St. Moritz is quite cosmopolitan probably the only metropolis in the Alps. At peak season, nearly a hundred thousand tourists from all over the globe join the towns approximately 5,000 permanent residents. Style, elegance and class come together here the oldest winter resort in the world at an elevation of around 1,800 metres. Nature does her part, too: St. Moritz boasts 322 days of sunshine, towering mountains, and enchanting lakes.


In winter, a detour for some skiing at Corvatsch is well worth it. St. Moritzs well-known champagne climate at 3,303 metres guarantees awe-inspiring views of the surrounding Alpine peaks.

  • The White Turf St. Moritz an international horse race on snow has taken
    place in early February every year since 1907.
  • Painter Giovanni Segantini captured the unique light in the Alps like no other. His works are on view at the Segantini Museum.
  • From mid-July to mid-August, St. Moritz is enveloped in the sound of jazz, with world- class musicians and fairytale venues.
